The complete policy
Please review these details before consigning. They help us protect your items, keep communication clear, and create the best experience for everyone.
Send item photosCadie's Corner offers a 90 day consignment term storewide. During the first 90 days, 60% of the net sales price goes to Cadie's Corner and 40% is credited to the consignor. The term begins on the date the price tag is created, typically the same day as drop off.
Consignors may choose one additional 30 day extension. During that extension, the split adjusts to 70% for Cadie's Corner and 30% for the consignor.
Cadie's Corner determines pricing, display, promotional inclusion, and sales strategy for all consigned items. We conduct storewide sales periodically, and consigned items are included in standard sales.
The consignor's percentage of the net sales price is credited to the account when an item sells. Net sales price means the final selling price less sales tax and buyer's fees.
At drop off, consignors choose whether expired unsold items should be picked up or donated. If you want to pick up certain pieces and donate the rest, we will record those instructions in your account notes.
We provide notice approximately one week before items expire. Proper notification is defined as one phone call or text and one email. Items selected for pickup must be collected within seven business days of expiration. After that period, they become property of Cadie's Corner. If you need an additional week, please call the store before the deadline. We can work with you when there is good communication.
New consignor accounts must be opened in person with a valid government issued photo ID. A one time $10 New Account Setup Fee is deducted from the consignor's first sales.
Active accounts are charged a $5 annual maintenance fee. The fee is automatically withdrawn on the first day of the calendar month in which the account was originally created.
Consignors are responsible for keeping their account contact information current.
Consignors may use their available balance in store or pick it up during business hours. Consignors living in Forrest, Lamar, Covington, Perry, Jones, Marion, Jefferson Davis, and Pearl River counties are required to come into the store to receive their account balance.
Consignors who live or move outside those counties may request a check by written notice from the email address on file. A $3 mailing fee applies to each check request.
After one year of inactivity, a consignor with an unclaimed balance will be notified. If the balance is not claimed within 30 days, the account incurs a $10 monthly service fee until the balance reaches zero. Activity includes selling an item, receiving a check, or using an account credit. Items left beyond the stated pickup period are considered abandoned property.
If a consignor passes away, all items and account balances become the responsibility of the consignor's legal estate or authorized representative. Proper legal documentation is required before merchandise, payments, or account information can be released. Checks can be made payable only to the consignor's estate.
Consigned items in active accounts remain the consignor's property while Cadie's Corner is contracted to sell them. We do our best to safeguard every item, but Cadie's Corner is not responsible for damage or loss for any reason, including theft, natural disaster, vandalism, fire, or water.
